Our 2012 Great American Ice Cream Challenge Grand Prize Winner: Eva Kosmas with “The Salty Greek!”

“My father is from Greece and as a result I’ve always been a huge fan of putting pistachios in desserts. I also love salted caramel, and decided to combined the two in an ice cream with a splash of thick traditional Greek yogurt mixed in with the cream. This made for a real treat, the sweet ice cream had a slight kick to it from the yogurt and the salty crunchiness of the roasted pistachios went perfectly with the creamy caramel.”
