This delicious torte recipe combines the bold flavors of vanilla and almond extract into one delicious, easy-to-make recipe!

Tortes were first made in Europe, and as most things usually do, traveled here to find a home amongst the New World settlers. The concept of tortes came from elegant multi-layered cakes that were first made famous in Hungary. The cakes alternated sponge cake with delicious buttercream fillings. Then, the cake was topped with hazelnuts, and other chopped nuts like almonds. Sometimes caramel was even drizzled over top. The cake eventually evolved into a one-layer sponge cake with all kinds of delicious toppings.

For our Almond Vanilla Torte, we kept the recipe as simple as possible. We topped ours with powdered sugar and slivered almonds to give it a simple, yet elegant finish.

We would like to make you aware of some minor packaging changes over the next few months. While we have seen a surge in demand for Rodelle Vanilla this year, the recent pandemic has caused many disruptions in the packaging supply chain. At times, you may notice a different color cap or a different type of bottle when you buy our vanilla. Inside the bottle is the same Rodelle Vanilla with the taste and quality that you have come to trust over the years.
