  • 3 apples (4 cups), peeled, cored and sliced
  • 4 oz raw sugar
  • 2 Rodelle Vanilla Beans, split and scraped

  • 4 oz (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup raw sugar
  • ¾ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 Rodelle Vanilla Beans, split and scraped

  • 2 Rodelle Vanilla Beans with 2 tsp Rodelle Pure Vanilla
  • Raw sugar with Rodelle Vanilla Sugar

Apple Filling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, toss the apple slices with the raw sugar and Rodelle Vanilla Beans, split and scraped, until the apples are evenly coated.
  2. In a preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, place the pie shell and prebake following package directions.
  3. After prebaking, add the apple mixture and bake for 15 minutes.

  1. While the pie is baking, make the topping by mixing together 1 stick of butter, the flour, the raw sugar, the rolled oats, the ground cinnamon and Rodelle Vanilla Beans, split and scraped, and incorporate with your hands all the ingredients until the mixture is crumbly.
  2. Reduce the heat to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, remove the precooked pie from the oven, sprinkle the apples with as much of the topping mixture as needed and finish the baking for an additional 30 minutes until the topping is browned and the apples are tender (if the topping browns too fast, cover loosely with aluminum foil).
