Ever wonder how to make brownies gooey? Look no further because we have perfected the process!

You’ll find this recipe on our cocoa packaging cause it’s THAT GOOD! It is the perfect brownie recipe. Baked in a 9×13 pan, this is an excellent gooey homemade Brownie Recipe for an event or gathering. We love it as our “everyday” brownie recipe because we’ll keep half and freeze or share half!

What makes these gooey fudge brownies the best? They use cocoa as the chocolate base, so they can be a lot more affordable and easy to make. Rather than chop up expensive bars of chocolate, use Rodelle Gourmet Dutch-Processed Baking Cocoa or Rodelle Organic Gourmet Dutch-Processed Baking Cocoa for the chocolatey-base! We only make this recipe with a high-quality cocoa powder like Rodelle because there are so few ingredients and the flavors really come through. Rodelle’s higher cocoa fat percentage lets you bake up a super chocolatey brownie without bar chocolate – making it easier to make brownies any time the craving hits!

While we recommend sifting your dry ingredients, this recipe is very simple to make and requires little equipment. You won’t need a stand or hand mixer here! 10 easy steps and 45 minutes are all that stand between you and the perfect gooey homemade brownies!

Tip – make a regular batch and then make a batch with walnuts or even pecans! The bit of crunch is nice! Or, pour half of your batter in an 8×8 pan and add nuts or inclusions to the other half of the batter and bake in a separate 8×8 pan – you’ll have to watch the cook time as it will differ quite a bit but then you have 2 smaller batches and everyone is happy!

Notes:

  • If you don't have butter on hand or are looking for a higher rise brownie with crispier/crunchier edges - try using a neutral oil like canola or vegetable. It's a 1:1 ratio!
  • For a more gooey brownie, bake batter at 325 degrees F for same duration of time
  •  For a creamier softer brownie - we recommend using our Rodelle Organic Cocoa
