Indulge your taste buds with this mouthwatering Chocolate Halva recipe.  This Persian confection is a simple treat to make that resembles fudge, but is made of tahini and sugar syrup. While the mixture cools down, it transforms into a smooth dense texture that melts in your mouth with every bite. 

Ingredients
  • 1 cup (256g) tahini 
  • ¼ tsp (1.5g) table salt 
  • 2 Tbsp (12g) Rodelle Gourmet Baking Cocoa 
  • 2 tsp (9g) Rodelle Vanilla Extract 
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar 
  • 1/3 cup (75g) water 
  • 1 tsp (3g) Rodelle Toasted Sesame Seeds 
  • 1 pinch flaky salt

  1. Line a 9”x5” pan with parchment paper. 
  2. In a heat-safe medium bowl, mix together tahini, salt, Rodelle Vanilla Extract, and Rodelle Gourmet Baking Cocoa. 
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. 
  4. Allow the mixture to continue boiling until it reaches 250F, without stirring. This should take about 6 minutes. 
  5. Remove from heat and slowly pour into the tahini mixture, while stirring. 
  6. Stir vigorously to combine and stop mixing once it has thickened. Be sure not to over mix. 
  7. Immediately transfer the halva into the 9”x5” pan. 
  8. Sprinkle the Rodelle Toasted Sesame Seeds and flaky salt over the top. 
  9. Let the halva cool to room temperature, about 2 hours. 
  10. Remove from pan. Cut into 1-inch slices, then in half the long way.
