New Cocoa Packaging!

We are excited to announce our new packaging for our fan-favorite 25 ounce Gourmet Dutch-Processed Baking Cocoa! We decided to make the shift from a rigid container for many reasons:

  1. Plastic reduction: Our new bag reduces the amount of plastic per container by 92%! While both containers are recyclable, the less plastic we use, the better!
  2. Cost savings: As costs of plastic and cocoa continue to rise, the reduction of plastic was an automatic way for Rodelle to be able to provide the same high-quality baking cocoa to our customers without a significant price increase.
  3. Quality packaging: We are proud to now offer our baking cocoa in BPA-free, recyclable plastic bags.
  4. Shelf space: Any extra bit of space in our (over stocked) pantries is needed in preparation of holiday baking! We wanted to minimize the footprint of our bag to allow for easier storage in smaller spaces.

Even though we have new packaging, we are still putting in the same Gourmet Dutch-Processed Baking Cocoa you know and love from Rodelle! We’re even celebrating with a list of our top three visited cocoa recipes from 2016!

Chocolate Oreo Cake

Sometimes we all need a dessert that takes it to the next level. This Chocolate Oreo Cake does just that! Originally developed for Rodelle by Lyuba at Will Cook for Smiles, this cake is beyond heavenly. Lyuba created a soft, moist cake base with a lot of Rodelle Gourmet Baking Cocoa and kept adding in some of our favorite flavors. With all of the chocolate flavor in the cake from the world’s best cocoa powder (we aren’t biased or anything), the frosting keeps things light and airy with a cream cheese base. But don’t worry – we’ve added crushed Oreos into the light frosting to keep the Oreo theme going. With three layers of rich, homemade chocolate cake and the Oreo Cream Cheese Frosting, we could have stopped there. But, why would we!?

Top your cake off with a homemade or store-bought hot fudge, more Oreos and you’ll have a cake that everyone keeps coming back to for seconds and thirds. But, don’t take our word for it, try the recipe and let us know what you think!

4th of July is Upon Us!

Tis the season for summer to fly by, lazy days of pool time and unlimited opportunities to grill and get out side. We’re slowing things down this 4th of July weekend – enjoying homemade treats with family and friends and generally attempting to relax as much as possible. That being said, we hope that whatever you’re planning for the 4th of July is fun, safe and memorable! To help make your menus the most memorable they can be, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite recipes – they are sure to make an impact!

Desserts:

Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream: We’ve combined the best of both worlds with strawberries shortcaking through our vanilla bean ice cream. Trust us, it will be a new favorite!

Summer Fruit Tart: This is a show stopper of a tart and comes together quickly! The hardest part is chopping up all of your favorite summer fruits and if you have older children, this is a great one to have them help out with!

Sides:

Summer Fruit Salsa: This salsa is zesty, but not too much so because of the balancing flavors of vanilla. We love it on fresh, wild caught fish, but it would be wonderful on chicken and even just on chips to snack on all day!

Grilled Fruit: Talk about a memorable experience – grilling up seasonal summer fruit takes the flavors to the next level! Your grill party will feel extra gourmet with some grilled fruit to accompany all of those hot dogs, hamburgers and brats!
